Jenny Lynn (editor and founder)
Jenny is a digital travel publisher, plus a mum of two boys. Before she turned her hand to blogging back in 2016, she worked in online mapping and musical theatre (quite a combo).
After running Peak District Kids for over 6 years, there was a huge demand from readers and followers to offer the same online resource for the Lake District. So in 2026, Jenny launched this sister-site, Lake District Kids, to help families get the most out of their Lake District adventures.
Jenny is also the editor of the popular adventure family travel blog, TraveLynn Family, where she shares her epic family travels across the globe. This is a family who thrives on adventure and off the beaten track travels. There are a range of other travel sites that Jenny runs alongside her husband, Jason Lynn, who is also a digital travel publisher, under the company, Broken Compass LLC.
When in the UK, Jenny loves nothing more than a long walk over the hills with her boys to a pub for lunch. Jenny is a huge advocate for getting kids outside in nature as much as possible, and forging a path away from the expected conveyor-belt of life.
Jason Lynn (technical guru)
After over 20 years working as a software engineer, Jason (husband to Jenny) joined the blogging business in 2023.
Jason brings a technical expertise to the Lake District Kids website to ensure everything runs smoothly and works on the wizardry behind the walk searches functionality. He is also a writer for TraveLynn Family and Southeast Asia Trains, amongst other travel websites.
Jason is a keen runner (he’s completed multiple marathons) and is a huge Grimsby Town fan. He also shares his love of travel with his family.
Michelle Tidswell (writer and reviewer)
Michelle lives in the Lake District, and works as a Teaching Assistant in a Reception class, where she sees exactly how important getting outside and having fun really is!
Along with her husband, 3 children and their tiny poodle, Michelle has spent years discovering and exploring new walks, attractions and things to do in the Lake Disrtict.
She feels very lucky to live here, and believes that there is something for everyone to enjoy in the beautiful Lake District.
Annabel Crane (writer and reviewer)
After 8 years in the classroom as a primary school teacher, Annabel left education in 2024 and is now the head of a psychology department for a North West charity.
With a busy household of two young boys and a labradoodle, getting the family out and about to explore, discover and burn off energy is always Annabel’s and her husband’s top priority, making their bases in both the Peak District and the Lake District ideal.
Whilst she loves to travel abroad, Annabel is a keen believer in making the most of what’s on your doorstep too, and so her family make the most of exploring the UK as much as possible. From campervanning around Scotland, to fossil hunting on the Yorkshire Coast, you’ll always be able to find them enjoying the great outdoors and seeking out their next adventure!
